Deer Oh Dear
Did I already tell you that one of our chickens got eaten by a bobcat? Our neighbor said he saw foxes coming from our woods to his place. And the bobcat too!
Anyway, it's tickland here too because of the deers we have. So maybe you're wondering how we got a close up shot of the deer?
Game camera!
It is sooooo cool. Since our we needed to know what other predators we have and what their habits and schedule are, we need a snooping tool so we got game cameras.
Dad and I strapped them to the trees pointing to our trails and this is one of the open spots we have down the trail.
We see a lot of deer and they are really cute and all.....but I don't like that they carry ticks that can be infected and give you Lymes disease or Rocky Mountain Spotted fever.
I don't see the mama deer in this picture but she's somewhere for sure.

Look right there. You can see that buck's little antlers stubs. That's a buck and a doe.
Oh deer, a doe a female deer Hahaha. If you know the rest of the song you know what I mean.
We'll have to check on the game cameras again. Hopefully we'll hit jackpot and see the bobcat.
Very cool deer on your trail, on picture of course, understanding all those tick issues contacting them seem to be seriously dangerous. How does this game camera look like? Can it work from a batteries? How did you manage to put it on the tree? I am very much interested in cameras, especially for those ones which can work without electricity.

We have lots of all sorts of wildlife here. No game cameras, we are just out and about on the farm and see it. The bobcat has been spotted near the house on several occasions. For the rest of the predators, it's easier to say what we DON'T have: wolves, wolverine, and lynx.
Wow! that is pretty dangerous, you must have a lot of guns to defend from such predator animals?
No, never had a need for any in 35 years. We long ago learned how to cohabit with the wildlife around us. The most danger we are in is from being sprayed by a skunk we didn't see in the dark... :))
