I'm sure it looks peaceful from space
It's been a rather chaotic couple of days. Yesterday I got a call that the brush goats had escaped again. They weren't supposed to be able to do that after we moved the fence, except they had eaten all the snacks and were bored.
We moved the fence again and gave them more pasture, which should buy me some time to figure out where to move them.
Today all was calm in goat land.
I went out to visit my friend who had so much trouble with her goats, because poor little Jack the bottle baby has lost his fur! He still has his under coat but all his regular fur is gone. I saw him the other day and was mystified. I did a little research and took him some dried kelp (for iodine) some really good minerals, and a zinc/manganese supplement. We'll see if it helps.
While I was there I managed to get the youngest kids to cooperate for a photo.
I had to lock the puppies in the house when I left because one of them has figured out how to escape the fence and keeps trying to follow me when I leave. I could have just brought the puppies but the back of my car was full of goat feed and I didn't want it covered in puppy barf. When I got home I found madness. They got up on the table (!) and pulled down a whole bag of very expensive prescription cat food. They took everything off of the coffee table. And they did this to my laptop.
So I am making my first post from my phone!
Hopefully we can figure out how to keep the puppies contained and I will be allowed to leave the house tomorrow.

Chaos indeed @goat-girlz! If you have a thrift store nearby you can usually find a USB keyboard at them for a few dollars which would make your laptop functional again. Cheers and have a great day!
Thanks! I did plug in a USB keyboard. Then first thing this morning I hit a button and flipped my screen upside down. Sigh. I'm a tech doofus.

Doh! I have no idea what button (or combination of buttons) does that! Search engines are your friend there for a solution @goat-girlz!
Right! I can still search from my phone. I'm really good at reading upside down but the mouse is backwards too, so I gave up.

Yes indeed! Or figure out the fencing problem. They don't cause as much trouble when they can go outside. Goats and puppies both are trouble when they get bored!

I can see what that goat mother is thinking, because I've been there. Really, you are going to just step on me? Like I'm just a hill, waiting to be walked all over...
Those little puppy brutes! How smart of them.
I can relate to the goat mama too. It's probably why my back hurts all the time!
And wow. We're going to have to try to outsmart the puppies. Little terrorists.

“The mice will play when the cat’s away.” Sorry to see what the mischievous puppies did while you were away from the house.
Maybe the goat losing fur could also be bathed in some kind of disinfectant to see if that helps....as fungus, pests like mites, bacteria or ringworm can all lead to infections that may ultimately cause baldness in any animals...maybe humans.
That's an interesting thought. With lice and mites a vinegar bath works really well. We might have to try that. It's hard to know what worked when you have to wait so long for the fur to grow back!
