What We Do Around Here To Celebrate Fall

So every year our family has a crazy fall and winter schedule. It is started off by our Family Fall Festival! This is planned by my daughter, and one of my daughters-in-love! It is just a time to gather together, and have some fun and games! We do it right near Halloween!

This year the Fall Festival was on Saturday! First we start by stuffing our faces with lots of food! Then LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!

Usually the games start with tests of strength, accuracy, and a lot of female, and male pride! First is the "Log Toss". This is exactly what it sounds like! Everyone tosses a log! We start off with the children, then on to the women, and finally the men! Each group tosses a log appropriately sized!

There is a lot of the thrill of victory:

The argument of defeat:

And just general mayhem:

Hubby's Toss:

I won third place in my division, and this cool candy medal of Honor, that would not fit over my head, so I fashioned it into a high couture bracelet instead, lol!

Then in the fading light of evening comes the next big event! The spear toss! I am absolutely terrible at throwing a spear, so I lost, and lost badly!

The rule is the gals(children don't play this game.) have to throw the spear as far as they can, and stick it into the ground. The end of the spear must be up off the ground. I think we had two gals actually do this. The rest of us lobbed them our three tries, and experienced the agony of defeat(we girls don't argue...).

The guys, being more powerful than a locomotive, and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, have to hit a wooden Target for accuracy, AND throw for distance!

After the spear throwing comes a rousing game of Treasure Hunt! We divide up into two teams, and stumble around in the dark, collecting clues to find the Grand Prize, which is usually more candy than anyone should rightly eat! My team, the Red Team, won! Then we divided the spoils of victory, generally held our victory over the heads of the opposing team, and most of us got sugar high, except me, I'm diabetic, and always sugar high, lol! However, VICTORY IS MINE!!!

Yes, a great time was had by all, and I hope that I have shared that with those reading!!! God bless!

It was a lot of fun! Thanks for reading and commenting!

First we start by stuffing our faces with lots of food!

hahaha!! Sounds like a good start to me!

Yes, it was great! We had Chops, Roast, Chicken, Mac n' Cheese, Broccoli, Cupcakes, and Rolls. Sounds like a lot of food, but there are 19 of us, and one on the way!

Love family activities and gatherings on this nature. No commercialism stuck in your face two months prior to the special day. Events planned that are competitive always provides an atmosphere for good times and laughter.

Yes, it was, and is every year, a great time! The world needs more memory making!
