The HONOR X9 is the finest 5G smartphone for six reasons.

In the world of mobiles, finding a genuine - and we mean genuine - all-rounder can be a difficult endeavor. It, when we unboxed the HONOR X9 and went through the checklist from beginning to end, we did so twice.

In the past, models have tried to promote themselves as flagship phones when they were not. And there are phones that make numerous compromises in order to fit into a specific pricing range. The HONOR X9 is a budget phone that performs admirably, not just in terms of build quality but also in terms of features.

The HONOR X9 with 8GB+2GB RAM and 128GB memory was sent to us for review. A 256GB variant is available as well. Here are a few items we enjoyed.

[HONOR SuperCharge Battery (66W) ]

The most impressive aspect of the HONOR X9 was that it barely broke a sweat despite its effectiveness in handling whatever was thrown at it, some of which are shown below. The long-lasting power horse is powered by an industry-leading 66W SuperCharge battery with a capacity of 4,800mAh to navigate all the challenges. The battery lasted over three days without being used for games. Even so, it took two days before the 66W charging brick could be removed from the package. And a complete charge takes only 43 minutes; that's 81 percent in half an hour. The phone went from 4 to 70% in the 20 minutes it took me to shave and shower.

[Looks]

This one is a tall beauty at 6.81 inches long. The HONOR X9 is available in two colors: premium Titanium Silver and regal Midnight Black, which we received. A circular camera tray with three lenses and the flash is symmetrically arranged in the back. The bottom houses the single SIM tray, type-C charging connector, and microphone. The volume rocker and a fingerprint sensor for your right thumb are on the side.

The front real estate is the most important. The IPS LCD display features a resolution of 2388x1080 pixels, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a density of 385 pixels per inch. With the HONOR X9, watching your screen for lengthy periods of time for leisure and games will not become a chore. To add to the display values, the bezel is just over 1mm thick.

[Performance]

Let's get right to the point. The Snapdragon 695 octacore 6nm 5G chipset and Adreno 619 CPU power your multimedia needs as well as the official ones. It can run up to 35 apps at the same time. So, what occurs in the game world? The HONOR X9, on the other hand, can add an extra 2GB RAM Turbo boost, bringing the total to 10GB RAM on demand. The mountains may be too high, but the HONOR X9 will not break or even be scratched if dropped from a higher table height or sent sliding away from waist level to the ground. It can handle up to 70kg of human weight and temperatures ranging from -20°C to 55°C.

The 16-megapixel selfie camera is located towards the top of the screen, in the center. Turning around the rear, a 48MP shooter with f/1.8 aperture takes pride of place in the halo-shaped tray. Super macro and portrait images are possible because to two 2.4MP macro and bokeh sensors. A dual front and rear live view option is available for Vloggers. Even in low light, the setup performs admirably. HONOR is serious about its cameras. Even yet, images produced in night mode are frequently overexposed. We tried it out in a restaurant and noticed a change beneath the tables. The exposure was just about right with the night mode on (right) without going overboard on the light metre.

The HONOR X9 comes pre-installed with Android 11 and the Magic UI 4.2 Launcher. The nicest part is that it's compatible with Google Mobile Services. This gadget now has Google goods. With the refresh rate and practically 10GB of RAM, playing PUBG with a Turbo GPU was a breeze. On the review device, the HONOR X9 got 391339 points in the Antutu 3D benchmark. Although it fell short of the 400k mark, the overall gaming performance is excellent.

[Price]

With all of these results and how many features are identical to those of a flagship phone, you'd expect the HONOR X9 would be expensive. However, you'll be pleasantly surprised when you learn the pricing. Our review model costs AED 1,099 in the UAE, while the 256GB model costs USD 326.

Given its affordability and capabilities, as well as the HONOR X9's 6nm 5G chipset, it's a rare marriage of beauty and brawn. The HONOR X9 is a true all-rounder that is a joy to use.
