Do you agree that child protection policy has caused students to be stubborn and sometimes abuse it thus affecting their learning?

This is interesting because when I was interning at a high school, a student came down to tell the counselor that his father was hitting him. After getting all sides of the story, we found that he was being disrespectful to his father and had hit his dad, so his dad slapped him on the head. There were no complaints after that.

At the same time, there are real instances of rape, child abuse, and neglect in homes. Have you heard of the California case where a couple tortured their children? They were starved and held captive for years. The 12 year old boy weighed the same as a 7 year old kid.

So yes, I do think that sometimes kids might abuse it, but as the adult, Is not difficult to figure out what is actually going on. I would hope that i wouldn't get duped by a teenager, middle schooler... In the event that you are unsure, there are many other adults to consult. There also counselors in the schools that can help with that because it is actually their job to do so. I believe it is better safe than sorry and plus guidelines make it very clear what needs to be done when child abuse is suspected, so it keeps everyone accountable.
