Technology has worked wonders in the world. It has made so many activities in our lives so much easier. Technology has become inevitable in our lives now. From communication to shopping, technology has influenced almost every activity in our day-to-day lives. Applications have been developed for basically everything. One such type of applications which shook the IT domain when first launched was the taxi booking applications like OLA and Uber.

These applications completely redefined the transport industry around the world on a global scale. They eliminated the need for us people to wait for several minutes on the road waiting for a taxi to show up, and then bargain with the driver for a reasonable price, after which we have to tell the driver the route in case he/she is not familiar with it and then finally pay the driver with cash only, because most of the time they don't have a card reader lying around in their cab. All we have to do is set our pick up and drop off points, and pay through one of the several methods of payment allowed and that's it!
The problem is, although these services initially started out as a decentralised platform, they have now become the centralised networks that they had originally intended to overpower. The companies now hold more power in setting prices, availability and various other parameters than both the drivers and the customers. As a result, both the drivers' and the customers' fate are left at the hands of the company, which is not desirable. There is a need for a properly decentralised system for these kinds of applications that enables direct communication between the driver and the customer, and gives them full control. This is exactly the intent with which RedCab has developed its taxi service application using blockchain technology.
The Blockchain Solution
The biggest trait of blockchain technology is that it offers complete decentralisation of the system. Seeing that this is what is lacking in the existing systems, RedCab has identified blockchains to be the perfect technology that can be incorporated into the existing systems to make its product better than what companies like Uber and Ola are currently offering to the public. RedCab LLC gives the chance for everybody to freelance as integrated service providers working on peer-to-peer scale, while taxi companies operate as an aggregated professional service provider.

Blockchains provide a means for cost-efficient and secure transactions which are highly desirable in a decentralised system. It also helps to maintain a self-sustaining ecosystem for the application without the need for huge investors and sponsors, by reducing expenses in the order of billions and the peoples' investments in ICOs.
