Liberal journalists and immigration.

It's so frustrating to listen to these liberal journalists interview regime officials on immigration. The journalists have the correct impulse, that things like separating children from their families is monstrous and terroristic, but they can never bring themselves to push back against "hey, this is what we always do to criminals, it's called law enforcement."

Pushing back against that requires you to admit that immigration itself should not be an illegal act, but liberals are still hesitant to bite the bullet there, and it severely dulls their ability to argue against what this administration is doing.

If you're (rightly) offended by what is going on at the border then it's time to adopt the only logically consistent and morally defensible position. Either support open borders or accept that this is what border enforcement looks like.

Another example of this that springs to mind was when the White House press pool tried to argue with Stephen Miller about the Muslim Ban and whether it was an affront to the values of the Statue of Liberty and American founding.

They correctly pointed out that America is a country founded on principles like free movement, but when Miller pushed back with "hey, we've had refugee and immigration caps for generations, were all of those against our principles? How many is the right number for the cap?" they had nothing to say.

Because the correct answer to that question is "get rid of all restrictions," but they weren't willing to say it.

They know in their hearts what the only humane answer is, they just can't bring themselves to say it.
