Narendra Modi is a very dominating personality and an experienced politician. Indecisive rule of UPA-2 (Coalition of Congress and other political parties), Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) reports, the wave of Hinduism, media management and use of social media to manipulate people’s thought process led unprecedented victory of BJP led coalition in General Assembly election of 2014. Mr. Modi Became prime minister of India.

His government took many initiatives to change the status quo which had cost UPA-2 a defeat in the elections. He scraped Planning Commission and introduced Niti Ayog, a new planning body in India. He also declared that his government would annul many outdated laws. He invited neighboring nations’ heads in his oath ceremony and also started many new projects and schemes.

First two years of his government was going nicely but Akhlaq lynching case and demonetization paved the path of decline for his government. Akhlaq was lynched by the religiously fanatic mob because of his consumption of beef. This was not the beginning. Since, then many people have been killed by the angry mob in various parts of the country on many pretexts and mere suspicions but the government helplessly watched those killings and took no step.

Demonetization brought enormous hardships and sufferings for the common man. When people were not able to withdraw their hard earned money from the banks, leaders of ruling party were being caught with lakhs and crores of rupees.

Bad conditions of banks, implementation of GST, absconding of bank loan defaulters, Mr. Modi’s extensive foreign trips, undeclared gag orders on media, a rise of uncertainty and unemployment, rising communal outrage etc. are big problems before him. Irresponsible and arrogant behavior of ruling party leaders is making things difficult while the party is not ready to take action against them. Opposite parties are trying to take advantages of controversy related to Raffle deal etc. Feud between CBI head and his deputy, media interview of displeased Supreme Court judges, increasing prices of fuel and other commodities, decreasing value of INR compared to USD etc. are very difficult to deal with. It seems that government is facing its worst time. In such a condition it won’t be easy for the ruling party to repeat the win of 2014 in the likewise manner. However, opposition parties are clueless and directionless. So, the ruling party may win 2019 elections but that won’t be a huge win. If his party wins, Mr. Modi will definitely become Prime Minister.
