सुरक्षा से था। उत्तरप्रदेश के एक राष्ट्रीय पार्क और
राजस्थान के अभ्यारण्य में कुछ ही दिनो के अन्तराल
में दो बाघ मारे गए । दोनों को अभ्यारण्य के बीच से
निकल रही ट्रेनों ने कुचला। एक सर्दी में धूप सेक
रहा था और दूसरा गाड़ी की आवाज सुन दौड़ा लेकिन
दोनों तरफ घाटियां होने से कुचला गया। यह इनके

वाली कई विदेशी संस्थाएं यहां अपनी प्रयोगशालाएं
स्थापित कर रही हैं। रेबीज की रोकथाम के लिए
प्रयोग में लाई जाने वाली शिप ब्रेन वैक्सीन के निर्माण
पर विश्व स्वासथ्य संगठन (डब्ल्यूएचओ.) ने रोक
लगा रखी है। इसका कारण है भेड़ पर किए जाने
वाले अमानवीय परीक्षण और मानव के लिए इसका
बेहद हानिकारक होना । इसमें भेड़ की खोपड़ी में छेद
करके रेबीज वायरस प्रविष्ट कराया जाता है। इससे
अगले चार या पांच दिनों में वह लकवे से पीडित हो
जाती है। कुछ समय बाद उसका मस्तिष्क टुकड़ों में
टूट जाता है, जिससे वेक्सीन या टीके का निर्माण होता
है। डब्ल्यूएचओ. द्वारा इसके उत्पादन पर प्रतिबंध
लगाए जाने के बावजूद को भारत में इसका निर्माण
हाल तक जी रहा है, जबकि यहां इसका
सुरक्षित विकल्प टिश्यू कल्चर वैक्सीन के रूप में
उपलब्ध है । कई बार तो शोध संस्थाएं और
फार्मास्यूटिकल कम्पनियां खर्चा बचाने के लिए एक

वीरा राघवन कई बार केंद्र और राज्य सरकारों से इनकी
बेहतर देखभाल और ऐसे परीक्षणों पर रोक की मांग |
कर चुकी है, लेकिन इन पर रोक की कोई कार्रवाई
नहीं हुई।
