Our world has been decimated by capitalism and its necessary colonialism. This has affected first nations or indigenous peoples around the globe.
In Vancouver there are lots of Indigenous people going through their own experiences around dealing with the effects of a colonizing breed upon their culture and way of life.
The Skwachays healing lodge is a special place. Its a project of the Vancouver Native Housing Society which helps house hundreds of urban indigenous people in Vancouver.
Being white and well aware of the privilege this brings me, I am continually faced with the challenges of how to find ways of being a good ancestor. One of the ways i can do this is to give my power back .
And money is a form of power isnt it. Finding any way i can to pay reparations for my ancestors behavior is the only way i can live in this messed up world. I wish more white folk could see this truth.

Thanks for your reply. Capitalism is alive and well my friend. In canada we have a wstered down "democratic socialism" which helps to give the wotking poor a little more access to capitalism than in other places that arent as lucky i suppose but i think you're mixing up political systems and economic paradigms. Government exists only as an aid to capitalism. Making laws that help yhe colonialists rape their environment even more and then offload it onto the people.

Capitalism relies on socialism in this case to get its bidding done. It will stop at nothing in the service of growth of capital. Including offsetting all of the costs onto the people... Through the use of government. In this case socialism. Private companies havent stopped being independant of the state no matter the states involvement in their profit machines.
