The trade conflict with China is one conflict the US cannot lose

The Sacramento Bee publishes an article (https://www.sacbee.com/latest-news/article214346764.html) on the US-China trade conflict, that, unlike the usual anti-Trump pablum from NYTimes etc. provides real figures why this is one conflict we cannot lose. Here are the figures: China imports $26 bln worth of integrated circuits per annum from the US despite numerous efforts to steal intellectual property (most recently from Micron). It also pays $24 bln in patent fees to US companies each year, but receives only $2 bln/year from its own patents. The US, on the other hand, pockets $124 bln per year (2017) in patent fees, a 60 to 1 advantage. This is unlikely to change anytime soon.
