HOW OVERPOPULATION AS EARNED US AWARD OF THE POOREST CONTINENT.. SOLUTION

images (25).jpeg

Over population has dragged Africa down the drain but I still understand why we keep having numerous kids when there are no resources to take care of them. At this age and time of the World, you see families with five, six kids and these kids don’t have access to healthcare, education, good feeding, shelter and other basic needs of a child. Overpopulation has led us into:

War with our environment: overpopulation has made us go extra mile inconveniencing the environment in order to satisfy we humans.

High cost of living
Increase in Unemployment rate
Inadequate healthcare
Famine and so on

Have they forgotten these kids will grow up to start their own family someday also and the deadliest part of it is that, with the kind of brought up these kids have they will emulate their parent kind of life and also give birth to plenty as well. So what do we expect in a continent where this is now a habit among the Africans?
With the help of Overpopulation we have earned prestigious award of the poorest continent, is that not amazing? The fact is that almost the entire Africa has contributed to overpopulation in one way or the other and please I am not condemning any practice in Africa, everything in this post is based on my view and the world statistics on Africa.

One way we have contributed to over population is Early Marriage. In my own point of view early marriage has boost the increase in population. Female are the target in early marriage if you agree with me. Female end up getting married at their teen age while they are suppose to be receiving knowledge that they can impact into the society later. At a particular time in Africa women are believe to be useful for reproduction, this believe isn’t that strong anymore but it is still been practiced by some countries and tribes in Africa. Female are given out at a very early age, without proper education and training. They start giving birth from early age till they can’t, by then they have 4 – 5 kids. Let assume every female from age 16 gives us 3-4 kids as an average, what will the population of Africa look like in 5 years time?

The male work and the female are seen as a reproduction agent and house chores, the effort of the male isn’t always enough and they give birth to many so that they can work on the family farmland but the world is not facing in that direction anymore. This age of the world where we don’t want to do agriculture but we want to have many kids, so how do we expect the limited resources to circulate us. It is disappointing that we haven’t taught ourselves the negative impact overpopulation at this time of World where other continents now do the maximum of two children. I have seen government trying to create awareness about the negative impact of overpopulation on the continent itself but people have been deceived with some cultural believes and many other false teaching about child bearing.

Many times we blame the government for insufficient provision for the citizens but are we also not helping the government to control the rate at which we give birth. Because of the overpopulation issue, the basic amenities won’t go round as expected. Some children won’t have access to Education, Good health care system, proper feeding and so on, so how do we fight and conquer poverty when the coming generations are coming without proper education, poor health that can make them useless and dependent on the community when the time for them to contribute to the growth of the continent comes in.

Am very sure if the population of Africa is reduced by 25%, there will be a little change. But reducing the population is late, so what is the way out? I have read articles about how the improved medical facilities have helped maintained overpopulation by reducing mortality rate but we are not seeing the part of how it can help us reduce the increase in Population. Anyway it is very simple,
Maintaining the current population and even the increase should be very low
Working to meet up with the needs of the current population

HOW CAN WE ACHIEVE THIS

Reduction in birth rate is the key to achieving the solution above and to also achieve the reduction in child birth,
The point will be highlighted below.
Every country in Africa should start a huge campaign against excessive child bearing. Families going on to have 3-5 kids should be discouraged doing so.
Educating the masses on the effect of overpopulation on us all as a continent.
Creating the awareness of family planning.
Appropriate knowledge of Sex education.
