JAIR BOLSONARO WINS THE FIRST TURN IN ELECTIONS IN BRAZIL - THE LEFT LOST, AND HAS IT WELL DESERVED

The die is cast. Right-wing candidate Jair Bolsonaro won more than 46% of the vote in the first round, while Lula's party barely reached 28.8%. Now, in the second round, they must compete for something more than 25%, which are the ones that were not for either of them. To win, Haddad would have to get 90% or more of those real votes, while Bolsonaro would be enough with 10%.

The first seems impossible, the second is very possible. Bolsonaro has to look for these votes among the population most inclined to support him. Haddad, on the other hand, would have to get them where the rejection of the Workers' Party is strongest (La Rousseff not only failed to enter the Senate, but remained in a ridiculous fourth place). Everything indicates, then, that Bolsonaro will be President of Brazil from January 1, 2019.

Is that good or bad for Brazil? I do not dare to judge him. Lula, the PT and socialism were not good, neither for Brazil nor for the rest of America. But I do not like either those on the extreme right or those on the extreme left. Apart from that my opinion does not have the slightest weight.

What happened is a fact. The Venezuelan effect has a lot to do with this brutal failure of the left, and Bolsonaro's victory is very likely to be very positive for Venezuela, which in the first place will do everything possible to eliminate Maduro and his accomplices from the scene, say what the other leaders of the hemisphere say.

Several of those rulers, although they have demonstrated against an exit as the one that very possibly takes place, will look the other way, they will give blows of chest and will sigh relieved when that exit is a fact. I always believed that shots came from there. And they come, they come. The left looked for it, and it would seem that it has succeeded. Thank you, then, to Providence, for the favor that soon, very soon, will have granted us.
