Those little booths may or may not have doctors doing the injections. In many places, the public health nurses give the shots. We don't want the vaccinations either. Here the vaccines are produced in a lab that the Minister of Health owns. Conflict of interest, much? They cornered us the other day in the street and sdemanded we be given yellow fever injections. I was waiting for these folks to become physically aggressive with us for saying NO! They do strong arm a lt of young parents into vaccinating their babies. They have wanted to come into the compound and vaccinate the children here. They never make it in. The door is always closed...
My friend here said most of our vaccines are from China, India or somewhere else. She said she doesn't trust them, so she takes her kids to Canada (they're Canadian citizens) to get vaccines. Even the vets here say not to trust vaccines that aren't from Panama City for pets (I guess those are imported from the US - I'm not sure). They take babies and vaccinate them here in the hospital but I was told that you can say you don't want them. Same for automatic ear piercing of baby girls at birth. ;) Not sure if either of those are true...and how many parents are educated about it anyway.
I'm glad your door is always closed. They can go home and take their needles with them.
