Anti-Censorship T-Shirts
With the growing issue between #FreeSpeech and the crack down against it, by over-zealous governments world wide, the very issue is now offered as a fashion statement. Hopefully the issue will effect more than fashion. But, allowing your body to be a billboard for a political statement is at least a step in the right direction. Recently Everpress and Amnesty International have teamed up to create t-shirts to protest anti-free speech laws.
Rebellion against censorship as a fashion statement? Is this t-shirt enough to get you arrested in some countries?
Here in the United States, we react strongly to the repugnant nature of censorship of free speech. We have watched in horror as other countries crack down on free speech in the guise of stopping "anti-hate" speech. Tommy Robinson famously was arrested and railroaded through court with a 13 month prison sentence for reporting about Muslim gangs and their involvement in child trafficking rings. And was quickly zeroed in on and arrested by police in the UK. How far will the crackdown in the UK be tolerated?
Will the message on this shirt be worn ironically by some hipster? Or, will it entice people to demand free speech?
Sadly, several countries have now followed the bandwagon of anti-hate laws and have made it illegal to express a political opinion in some cases.
What is going on with the attack on free speech is actually slavery and I think people need to call it what it is. Slavery cowardly hidden under law.
Yes, it's a form of mental slavery. And it seems as if many people are willing partners in their own deception. Is that what you mean?
