yeah, it makes you wonder how much longer they can keep operating in record deficits and keep the state government functioning.
They are bankrupt now. That may be why this dam is being ignored. A major disaster brings in a LOT of federal disaster relief money!
That kind of money influx, could carry the entire state for a while. After all it is just voter'slives and property...so why worry? They plan to blame Trump anyway!

I do not see any other possibility. Look at all the money that flowed into New Orleans after they were given the cash to fix their levy system, and that cash was stolen by local politicians. Then a barge impacted those unrepaired levies, and punched through, flooding everything. The storm pumps, that were not upgraded, like they were supposed to be (for immersion) flooded, and failed. ALL that money was stolen, and no one was jailed!
Those same thieves (AKA Politicians) blamed Bush for the failure of those same unrepaired levies and pumps....

Yes the storm was basically done, and a barge broke loose, and smacked through a class 4 levy that was supposed to be a class 5 levy, with piles driven in front to stop storm debris (like a loose barge) from penetrating that critical levy. Then the flood pumps that should have been upgraded to a submersible type, went under water, shorted out, and stopped pumping. THEN the city flooded!
Those politicians stole the upgrade money, murdered their voters, and then blamed others! Oh, and the primary fool was a democrat, and he was re elected, and not jailed!!!

They still do, if memory serves he had been busted for drugs.
BUT, He was responsible for a number of deaths from that flooding! He should be in prison!
I will never go back to New Orleans, I am disgusted with them!
