A very important issue, indeed. However, people will be always attracted by cities, because of job opportunities, culture, connections... only catastrophic events can change such attitude. Decreasing bumblebee population does not really matter for most people.
Unfortunately I think so too because the shift in perceptions cannot happen as long as the economy still seems doing okay. People tend to care about their own individual security first before the world. This is more of an education problem: it should be taught in elementary schools that caring about the world comes before anything else and that it is essential to individual freedom.
So true. We prepare bags of wildflower seed for presents to spread the idea...
