Orwell's "memory hole"...one of the best futurist calls of all time...Coming to a wall outlet near you.

If you've never read Eric Arthur Blair's (aka "George Orwell") classic dystopian novel, "1984," stop right here. Get your car keys and drive to the nearest bookstore or library (depending on current finances) and GET A COPY. Go read it, and then come back here to read this, and/or to comment.

Blair/Orwell was a British Fabian Socialist. That is to say he was an anti-Communist who believed that Christianized socialism would work in the broadest imaginable communities-- much larger than the home churches of Christ's time. Fabians advocated government collectivism in the areas of public education, and the economy--including a greatly expanded view of "public works." They clashed regularly with radical socialists and Communists who they sought to bring over through a process of "permeation"--i.e. gradually infusing the principle of common-sense gradual movement toward their positions through education and debate.

"1984," published in London, thirty-five years before Orwell suspected that, were the British radicals and their American and Continental allies to be successful in their violent globalism and elitist technocratic goals, that the world would eventually break down into just three warring super-regions that gradually shifted allegiances among one another with "perpetual war for perpetual;peace'" being the elitist watchword.

The only place that Orwell could truly have said to have "failed" in his predictions was in his assumption that it could all come to fruition in a mere 35-40 year time span. His book is one of the reasons that we are only now...35 years later..approaching his total dystopian nightmare in the real world. When American literature classes abandoned the novel as a very common reading requirement for high school English classes is when we began to slip toward that nightmare as a nation.

Orwell's main character, Winston Smith, worked in the Ministry of Truth (the global government's propaganda arm) destroying any documents that could nay-say the then current official version of "world history and current affairs." Any document that he came across which proved the current versions false was dispatched down a "memory hole" for immediate fiery eradication.

While he didn't quite foresee the internet, he definitely foresaw attempts (like Wikipedia, and the current government censorship efforts) to place all knowledge and accessible information into state hands so as to make it impossible for any nascent revolutionaries from the ranks of the proletariat from ever being able to contradict the government, or to ever have any shot of ever winning any victories in the "information war."

Here is an interesting article which claims that a breakup of the internet in true "memory hole" tradition is on the way, and almost a reality, internationally. Have a look:

https://www.technocracy.news/breaking-up-internet-imperiled-by-new-regulations/

Here is a key excerpt:

"Increasingly, moves by governments to filter and restrict content are threatening to fragment the system created with the promise of connecting the world with a largely unified body of content.

China for years has walled off some western services, and the fragmentation may be accelerating with regulations being imposed elsewhere, say analysts. This is leading to a 'splinternet,' a term circulated for a decade or more but gaining more traction in recent months.

'The internet is already fragmented in material ways, but each regulator around the world thinks they know how to fix the internet,' said Eric Goldman, director of the High Tech Law Institute at Santa Clara University. 'I think we will see a tsunami of regulations that will lead to a further splintering of the internet'.”

The article writer is claiming that the Christchurch massacre may have even been used to forward this agenda, as there was a panicked reaction to private citizens streaming video of the attack, almost in real time.

If the elites succeed in their plan, they will greatly reduce current linkages of conservative/libertarians/populists and others that are currently burgeoning an expanding as a result of the internet. Even the block chain would likely be subject to attempts to fracture content that citizens of one country could view based on nation-of-origin tagging. I am not sure if they would be successful at that, of course, but the elites always have the "final solution" at hand if they ever get desperate enough to shut down all information flows. ...the EMP attack.

Let's hope it never comes to that, but never doubt the degree to which globalist elites will go to protect their current GLOBAL SWAMP and their technocracy.

Sort:

Howdy sir mepatriot! I've never read 1894 but I need to at least put it on my list of books to get to someday!
But it's alarming to see they are always coming up with ways to control information flow.

It sure is. "1984" is also just a good read, btw....

I'm really illiterate in a way because I haven't read that. Maybe I'll have time if we get wiped out by an EMP.
