Uh oh...even liberal Democrats are apparently susceptible to AIPAC/ADL smears.

There are several immense and powerful lobbies that it seems no elected official can openly criticize without paying a heavy price. The head of the list seems to be the criticizing, in any way, of the inordinate power of the various Israeli lobby groups headed by the American-Israeli Political Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL.)

Make no doubt about it, these are hard-line, Likudist organizations that stand for extreme Zionism, unlimited settlement building, and a political dictum that whatever Netanyahu says is sacrosanct and inviolable. Make no mind about the fact that MOST JEWS are not of this hard-line perspective. Truth doesn't matter. Only political correctness and orthodoxy matters.

Now, there is no doubt that these new Muslim women elected to Congress probably share some of the radical Muslim notions about "wiping Israel off the map, " etc. but now that some very different voices are arising in the Congress, it's very interesting to watch the political ramifications.

I have stated many times before that I am a Zionist..if you correctly define it as someone who believes that the modern nation-state of Israel has a right to exist and to defend herself. But when perhaps as much as 25-50% of the political lobbying power in this nation is controlled by a group that represents a mere 3% of the population, that is inherently unfair and "un-Democratic."

Here is a link from just yesterday talking about the trouble that one of these freshman female U.S. Reps has run into--from both the right and left (i.e. extreme, expansionist, Likud-style Zionism knows no political-party boundaries:)

Here is an excerpt:

"House GOP conference chair Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., slammed Omar's remarks and called for House Democrat leaders to remove Omar from the Housed Foreign Affairs Committee. Zudhi Jasser, a physician and President of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, took Cheney’s call a step further, arguing that removing Omar from the House Foreign Affairs Committee would be a “good first step, followed by a swift sanction against @IlhanMN for bigotry unfit for the US Congress with removal from all committees. Ignoring this would bring the “bigotry of low expectations” to a new low for Muslims.”

Yea...if I was an Israeli dual loyalist, I'd be upset too, granted. But from the perspective of AN AMERICAN writing about THE AMERICAN CONGRESS I don't see how insufficient loyalty to a foreign power can be considered grounds for sanction and removal from committee assignments. Now, if she does go all Hezbollah and begins calling for killing people or wiping out countries, then maybe...

This should be fun to watch for the next few years. LOL...

AND...to my Israeli dual-loyalist fellow Americans.. Please try to think how it might look from an AMERICAN (and America ONLY) perspective (which, btw...is what OUR CONGRESS is for) for anyone in Congress to be arguing for political loyalty to certain lobbying groups.

Frankly, that is totally unseemly, and a far bigger problem for America than the status of Israel's quarrels with her neighbors.

Also, take heart my dual loyalist friends...it is the radical leftist, un-American socialist leanings of these Reps which is far more likely to take them out, than anything your lobby groups are likely to achieve.

It is treason against THIS country that may wind up being their downfall, not treason against some lobby group or foreign country.

Sort:

She's getting destroyed by all sides. This is the true bias in politics. The untouchable subject.

Um...hmmm...
