This won't be a very long post, but I just read some news articles about what's been happening to a once powerful freedom fighter.
To those who don't know who Julian Assange is, he founded wikileaks. If you don't know what wikileaks is, you've been living under a rock! He ruffled a lot of feathers by exposing private information and government corruption, and is a wanted man! He is also wanted because of allegations of sexual assault, but I personally think these are false allegations...
Finding asylum in Ecuador's embassy in London, he is currently living in a 215 square foot room with his cat. If that's not bad enough, phone calls and internet have been denied. He can't have any visitors either. He's completely cut off!
Even though he hacked and angered Sarah Palin in 2008, she is speaking out for him, and said, "I appreciate him so much I actually probably apologize to him for calling him out. He’s all about freedom. He wants people to have information. That’s power."
The Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Maria Fernanda Espinosa told reporters, "He still has no access to the Internet and communications ... there is a dialogue, there is a will and an interest to move forward in the solution of that matter."
I found out this forced isolation has been going on for months - since March, so when are we going to move forward here?
The articles I read indicate that he is being silenced to avoid him from issuing statements that would influence others, or complicate relations between the countries protecting him, and the countries accusing him.
Someone who has fought so hard for free speech now has a gag in his mouth.
You've probably figured out by now where I stand on this, but what about you? What is your opinion on Julian Assange?

A few years back there was an assassination attempt on Assange. Security has become very tight since then, especially now. @ironshield

Do you know the Met police force in London has spent over £12m!!!!! on 24 x 7 guard outiside the Ecuadorian to arrest him in case he steps out. That's money that could have spent elsewhere in the rest of London preventing crime and protecting innocent citizens
I was not aware of how much money is going into keeping him in his padded prison. That's insane!!
Wikileaks has been one of those game changers. One thing that is saving him from being tossed with the trash is that the last outgoing president granted him citizenship. Free Julian!

The isolation might not be what it appears. He may
have been carted off to Château d'If for all we know.
