RE: The Singularity: AI Meets the Asshole Quotient

in #informationwar6 years ago (edited)

Speaking to the notion of conformity, groupthink, and socialism I often find myself wondering about the blockchain and the idea of reward pool rape. Those who subscribe to it generally tend to believe that the reward pool is something that belongs to the community.

Not too long ago, I came up with a series of steem maxims that I think are true and cannot be disputed. The very first of them is that: "The reward pool belongs to SP holders based on % of SP holdings".

If this is true in the economic sense of steem's reality, then the notion that the reward pool can be raped is fallacious. In addition, if that maxim is true that would mean that anyone who subscribes to the idea that the reward pool belongs to the community as opposed to the individual SP holders either consciously, or unconsciously subscribes to socialistic ideals.

As far as technology goes I too believe that it is a double-edged sword, the robot revolution in general, AI and biological enhancements. It's something that none of us will be able to stop but we should consider the idea of arming ourselves with these technologies and using them for good purposes. E.g. being Asimov's laws.

Great article Rich, I know it's inspired allot of thought on this end!

Thank you... I really don't pay a lot of attention to the reward pool rape... sometimes ignorance truly is bliss. My philosophy about payouts has been the same since day one- do my very best and hope for the best. Like most people (I think) I started with nothing but a head full of ideas. When I started out I was making about $0.10 an article (Steem was around $0.40).
