RE: Perfectly healthy 13-year-olds are being mutilated by their parents with their blessing. SAY WHAT!?!

My kids got mad at me because I wouldn't let them get tattoos while they were minors.

Today they are grateful. I did so, and they understand this now, because I didn't want to make those decisions for them, and they weren't competent to do so - but would be later. Preventing them from making those decisions as minors enabled them to make them as adults, which is what parenting is about.

Sexually mutilating children is a crime IMHO. When these kids become adults they will have such enormous baggage committing them to their choices made as children (the sunk cost fallacy) that getting their heads on straight will be monumentally difficult, if possible at all.

As a result, a percentage of voters in the future will be locked into voting according to their childhood perceptions regarding gender. Reasonable people change their minds as their understanding improves, and this population won't be able to do that to a large degree. Their ability to reason will have been surgically removed.

Thanks!
