Is the Philippines government spreading anti-vaxxer "conspiracy theories" by charging Sanofi employees with crimes?

MANILA/PARIS (Reuters) - The Philippine Department of Justice on Friday said it had found probable cause to indict officials from French drugmaker Sanofi and former and current Philippine health officials over 10 deaths it said were linked to use of a dengue vaccine.

It recommended charges be filed in court for multiple counts of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, due to what it said were procedural lapses and irregularities in implementing a Philippine dengue immunization program using Sanofi’s Dengvaxia.

I did a search on Dengue fever deaths and I couldn't find the global death rate from the virus but several countries posts data on the number of cases and deaths. The death to cases rate seems about the same in most countries as this one from Malaysia in the image below.

They said 10 people died as result of the vaccine but they are actually investigating 35 deaths. That's quite a bit if we're taking about dozen of deaths per year in Malaysia to dengue fever. So it's no wonder why the Philippines is taking action against this vaccine company when there vaccine is killing almost as many people as the actual virus.

The prosecutors said six Sanofi officials, mostly country representatives of the firm, and 14 current and former Philippine health officials should be charged, including former Health Minister Janette Garin.

Sanofi has repeatedly said Dengvaxia is safe and effective and, on Friday, rejected the justice department’s recommendations.

They always say vaccines are safe and effective when that's far from the truth. The exact details into how these people died is not clear in the article but I hope the Philippines and the families sue the vaccine maker if this company pushed a dangerous vaccine on the population.

The company acknowledged two years ago its use could, in some cases, increase the risk of severe dengue in people who had not been previously exposed to the disease, limiting access to vaccine after deaths of children were reported in the Philippines.

This sounds to me like the company is admitting that this vaccine could give you dengue fever and that the vaccine is safer for people that had already been exposed to dengue fever aka already have an immunity to the virus. Which sounds ass backwards to how I think a vaccine should work because it should be designed to protect people without any immunity and not put them at the most risk.

However, the Philippines has permanently halted the sale, distribution and marketing of Dengvaxia, which was initially seen as a potential $1-billion-a-year-plus product.

These vaccines are huge money makers and I wouldn't be surprised if this company pushed it's vaccine out the door without proper study or cut corners in safety because of the all the money involved.

You won't hear the main stream media bring up this example as reason to not trust vaccines but they should because this happens a lot in 3rd world countries were deaths are linked to vaccines. It's not anti-vaxxing conspiracy theories that make people worried about vaccines. It's actions like this from governments against these vaccines makes that make people question the safety of these vaccines.
