Mainstream Media Nonsense

All you see in the mainstream media is either a straight lie, or a diversion to keep you focused on anything but the facts that dictate our reality. It's a media-circus in the spirit of Edward Bernays theories on public relations and propaganda.

If you read my previous post on the Democracy Of The Self: War-Tactics In Peacetime, you already know how Sigmund Feud's nephew, Edward Bernays, invented the term "public relations" to replace "propaganda" when that word became linked to the Great War in people's subconsciousness. In his essay "The Engineering of Consent" he blatantly stated that customers trust newspapers and news-tv more than any advertisement or political campaign message broadcast as part of the commercials. So the trick he devised was that of the "non event"; manufactured news to influence people's subconscious minds in order to influence their decisions.

He applied this tactic successfully in his Torches of Freedom campaign he used to sell cigarettes to women, about which you can read in that previous article. Today I'd like to point your attention to a video from 2016 where Eudaimonia explains how Donald Trump, consciously or unconsciously used Bernays tactics to win the election:

You can also see this tactic being used in the many "infomercials" where it often seems as if you're being informed about a certain disease, and at the end it's mentioned that it's actually an advertisement for a brand of medicine. You can see it in the way advertisements no longer talk about the characteristics or benefits of a particular product, but link the product to feelings of happiness and fulfillment in the subconscious mind by showing lots of pictures of happy people in blessed surroundings. Don't inform, but play on their emotions. And if it works with products, why wouldn't it work in elections or actual news-media?

Another video by Way of the World points to another problem with the information coming from the mainstream, corporate owned media; the constant barrage of so called SJW propaganda. I consider myself far left on the political spectrum, so far left that Karl Marx himself would find himself miles to my right, but I cannot fathom why the petty left-wing politics nowadays engages in this kind of identity-politics. Also, since this example is from the BBC, this should show you that the propaganda that has become news isn't confined to one country or continent: this is a global phenomenon.


Who Still Takes BBC News Seriously?

I hope you took the time to watch these short videos and agree with me that news from the mainstream media is to be taken with a ton of salt, or best left alone completely. Don't allow yourself to be caught up in this "us-against-them" propaganda because the old "divide and conquer" rule still applies. Focus on the real adversaries and follow the money; the only conflict that's real is the one between the have's and the have-not's, and the have's are constantly trying to set up the have-not's against each other to keep the focus away from themselves.

Your on the money mate. Media is brainwashing everyone and its working to well. The rich get richer while the poor defend them andthere dodgy business practices cos they provide "jobs". Whats the point in creating jobs that dont even earn you enough money for the basics
