แมลงเป็นอาหาร (insect as food)

Entomophagy คือการรับประทานอาหารของแมลง แม้ว่าหลายคนที่กินนกหรือสัตว์อื่น ๆ ก็อร่อย แต่คนในบางประเทศก็ถือว่าแมลงเป็นอาหารอันโอชะ มนุษย์ที่เป็นแมลงในบางส่วนของโลกเช่นทวีปอเมริกากลางและอเมริกาใต้และแอฟริกาเอเชียตะวันออกกลางออสเตรเลียและนิวซีแลนด์ แต่ในบางสังคมกินแมลงแปลกหรือแม้กระทั่งข้อห้าม
แมลงและสัตว์ไม่มีกระดูกสันหลังอื่น ๆ เป็นแหล่งอาหารสำหรับคนนับหมื่น ๆ ปีทั่วโลก วันนี้การกินแมลงเป็นสิ่งหายาก แต่แมลงยังคงเป็นอาหารยอดนิยมในหลายประเทศกำลังพัฒนาเช่นอเมริกากลางและอเมริกาใต้แอฟริกาและเอเชีย ไทยกัมพูชาจีนแอฟริกาเม็กซิโกโคลัมเบียและนิวกินี แมลงชนิดหนึ่งที่กินได้ทั่วไปทั่วโลก ได้แก่ จิ้งหรีดตั๊กแตนมดแมลงหนอนแมลงตัวอ่อนด่างดำแมลงป่องและแมลงป่องต่าง ๆ

Entomophagy is the practice of eating insect culinary. Although for many people eating birds or other animals is delicious, but people in some countries also consider insects as a delicacy. Insectivorous humans are common in some parts of the world such as North, Central and South America and Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand. But in some societies eating insects is strange or even taboo.
Insects and other invertebrates have been a source of food for people for tens of thousands of years, all over the planet. Today eating insects is a rare thing, but insects remain a popular food in many developing countries such as Central and South America, Africa, and Asia. Thailand, Cambodia, China, Africa, Mexico, Colombia and New Guinea. Some of the most commonly eaten insects around the world are crickets, grasshoppers, ants, maggots of beetles, darkened beetle larvae, various species of scorpions and even caterpillars.
