Dan met Alex in college; they happened to be sit partners and grew fond of each other. One day, Dan was desperately in need of money. His friend Alex helped him out. He was able to clear his debt and escaped been bullied by the guys he had previously borrowed money from. Alex fell ill and needed to be assisted to get home. Dan loves soccer and he had a match to watch that afternoon. Alex after waiting a while for his Friend Dan to come and help out, had to walk home in company of another class mate because Dan couldn’t sacrifice his match time for his friend. That day marked the end of their friendship. Alex felt disappointed in Dan and till date still hold grudge against him

A lot of us loves to give expecting something in return. Don’t forget, we are all different individuals and we have different views about life. Our upbringing is also different. Not everyone can be like you. Some people have learnt over time to be dependent on others for their needs and do not even remember to show gratitude when they receive favors. Some have trained themselves to always be at the receiving end and have not learnt the act of giving.

The only way to survive hurt is not to raise expectations when giving. That way, you won’t be disappointed when someone you helped fails or refuses to help you. Give because you want to give not because you want something in return. If you don’t have a large heart, this might not work for you.

Thank you
