Hate any kind of short-link, I use "Simply URL Extender" Add-On in Firefox which can give me the final destination even behind Buttons.

good to know, thank you!

There exists a very similar add-on for Thunderbird, called TORPEDO which aims at protecting users against phishing attacks using malicious links in emails (see https://www.secuso.informatik.tu-darmstadt.de/en/secuso/research/results/security-extensions/torpedo/).

Is it working for every kind of link shortener or just bit.ly links?
When i was younger, my mum said "dont go with suspicious people!", now i say to my mum "dont click on suspicious links!" :D
(hope the translation is right ^^')

This is only working for bit.ly.

A browser addon/extension might be better when you need it on a regular basis.

ok, thanks for your answer. i will have a look around then if there is something useful.
