I've known about Steemit for a while and have been reading various articles on here, but I finally decided to join myself.
This is because I want to start writing more often to better understand what I'm learning, improve my thinking, share what I learn and start discussions with like-minded people.
I like the somewhat experimental nature of what Steemit is trying to achieve, so this seemed like a good place for me to explore different ideas as well.
Also, what other cool stuff is there to read on here? Feel free to leave suggestions as comments.

Great introduction, the Steem Blockchain offers far more then just a simple blogging interface, with many connected dapps including front ends like Steve.app and games like @steemmonsters and @drugwars
You can explore posts like #steem - any tag with a hash in front will bring up recent posts using it. And you can find posts to read using the tag list.
Have fun, make friends and enjoy making your own posts and reading others - leaving comments on other people’s posts is a great way to bring people back to your blog.
