Vivir con fe
2Cor.5: 7 "por fe andamos, no por vista".
La esencia del cristianismo bíblico e histórico siempre ha sido la fe. Y dice la Palabra de Dios (Heb. 11: 1) que: "la fe es la convicción de lo que no se ve".
En Gál.5: 22 se describe la fe como un fruto del Espíritu, por lo cual podemos decir con toda propiedad que la fe es el motor, la fuerza que mueve todo el cristianismo.
Hebreos capítulo 11 se ha dado en llamar "la galería de la fe". Y comienza ese capítulo describiendo lo que es la fe según el concepto de Dios: "La fe es la certeza de lo que se espera, la convicción de lo que no se ve".
Luego de esa aclaración, donde precisa lo que es la fe, expone una lista de hombres cuya fe brilló incluso en medio de la adversidad, y les permitió alcanzar un buen testimonio entre aquellos que fueron testigos de sus conductas y formas de vida.
Porque siempre la fe verdadera va acompañada de un testimonio que la hace brillar, aún en medio de la adversidad. Es más, cuando mayor es la oscuridad que la rodea, más sobresale su luz. Una luz tan débil como de una cerilla encendida en la penumbra de la noche, puede verse a gran distancia.
Así debe ser la vida de todo creyente que tiene este fruto del Espíritu, la fe. Cuando más intensas son las tinieblas que le envuelven, con mayor nitidez debe destacarse su fe.
Es lo que vemos en el testimonio que registra la Biblia para nuestra enseñanza, respecto a la experiencia del apóstol Pablo, cuando fue llevado injustamente al calabozo de más adentro y con un cepo en sus pies. En esas penumbras literales, su testimonio brilló con tal intensidad, que aún en esa condición cantaba al Señor, lo cual trajo como fruto la conversión del carcelero.
