Hoping to Get Attention on My First Post About my Self

To be honest, the reason why I'm here on Steemit is because of my boredom. Yes, it's because out of my boredom and longing for my family, I found this platform. I was searching the net for pictures of oceans, animals, of everything that will remind me of home. Then I saw a post from this woman about her life with her dogs. I got curious and read more about steemit.

At first, I was hesitant to join, so for a month I was just browsing the net and studied this platform. Then, I found out that I needed to introduce my self. I searched and read everybody's post about themselves. Some of them got hundreds of upvotes and some few up votes. I think to myself, why? Now, I wonder how to get attention from you guys. Hopefully you'll up vote my first ever post here.

And before I forgot I am Barney from Philippines. I am currently leaving away from my family because of the nature of my work. I live here in the mountains of Mindanao. Yes, I work for my nation's armed forces. Being away from home makes you feel alone and homesick. I hope, steemit will somehow help me ease my boredom and loneliness.

So guys, expect pictures and stories about my life here in the mountain! If you are interested to be part of my journey please follow me and up vote guys!

      Hello barneydavid! Welcome to Steemit! Hope you'll like the community here. As a start, here are 5 tips that we believe will be helpful to you:

      1. Keep your passwords safe: Unlike conventional sites, Steemit has 4 types of passwords. Each offers varying degrees of access to your account, so know where and when to use each of them. Also, make sure to keep them all safe and secure.
      2. Get Steem rewards: When writing a post, you'll have the option to choose how to receive your reward: "Default 50%/50%" or "Power Up 100%". As of this moment, choosing Default 50%/50% is the better option. But this can change over time. Check our post to know more.
      3. Upvote wisely: When upvoting, wait at least 30 minutes after the post is published to maximize your curation reward. Also, make sure not to upvote too much too fast so as not to drain your voting power.
      4. Know your Steem, Steem Dollars and Steem Power: Steem and Steem Dollars are the 2 main currencies here. Convert and power up more Steem into Steem Power so you can have higher values on your upvotes.
