Introducing Banks to the Cryptoworld? (English/Spanish)

I have long argued with friends or acquaintances about the scope of cryptocurrencies. We have similar views on certain issues, but very different in others.
We both agree that the blockchain is the technology that will revolutionize the way in which certain actions of transfer of information or values are carried out. But we do not agree with respect to existing entities that could be replaced. For example, banks: will these be totally displaced from the economy by a digital currency? If yes: will it be an existing currency such as bitcoin, or a new currency that will be developed soon?
Or maybe that conclusion is wrong, and they (the banks) are going to take charge of updating themselves and creating their own digital currency? And in this case what role do the existing cryptocurrency play in the present? Will banks be stolen from the market anyway?

I would like very much that you can comment your opinion.

Hace tiempo que discuto con amigos o conocidos acerca del alcance de las criptomonedas. Tenemos puntos de vista similares en ciertas cuestiones, pero muy distintos en otros.
Ambos concordamos en que el blockchain es la tecnologia que va a revolucionar la manera en que se realizan determinadas acciones de transferencia de informacion o valores. Pero no estamos de acuerdo con respecto a las entidades existentes que podian ser reemplazadas. Por ejemplo los bancos: seran estos totalmente desplazados de la economia por una moneda digital? En caso afirmativo: sera una moneda existente como bitcoin, o una moneda nueva que se va a desarrollar proximamente?
O tal vez esa conclusion sea erronea, y ellos mismos (los bancos) se van a encargar de actualizarse y crear su propia moneda digital? Y en este caso que papel juegan las cryptodivisas existentes en el presente? Le robaran mercado a los bancos de todos modos?

Me gustaria mucho que puedan comentar su opinion.
