Hi everyone!

I'm Synne (pronounced like cinna), a 19 year old art student, step-mother and passionate vegan. As of right now I am on a path to heal myself after a very mentally difficult year. As many of you probably know, mental health is an ongoing struggle, and about 8 months ago I hit rock bottom.

I am focusing on getting back to my happy, healthy self. Yoga was very therapeutic for me and helped me during 2015-2016 to keep my anxiety and depression at bay. When I entered into a relationship a little over a year ago I forgot to take the time to take care of myself, and my mental health went downhill. I stopped going to acrobatics, I stopped doing yoga - it was all fine until it wasn't anymore, and then it really wasn't fine. Don't get me wrong, the relationship is great, and has been from the start, but as often happens at the start of a new relationship, you forget to do the things that are important to your well being. And so little but little I became engulfed by anxiety and depression, and tried to commit suicide.

We shall, however, not linger on the past but rather look forward. I am now 100% committed to getting better as my suicide attempt gave me a serious reality check. I am back at uni, focusing on my health again and taking each day as it comes. My boyfriend and I have an apartment together, we go to the gym every other day and are thriving on a vegan lifestyle. These are the parts of my life I would like to write about here on steemit. I will probably mainly post recipes, and do updates on how my journey with the 5x5 stronglifts programme is going, so stay tuned if that sounds interesting to you!

With the sappy intoduceyourself post over, I hope to in the future inspire my readers to try out veganism, to love exercise and to live the life that they deserve to lead.
