Confessions of a Dharma Bum

Call me Valentine.

Perhaps you'd agree with the statement that the state of politics in North American society have never been worse. Whether you're coming to awareness after 2016 or if you've always distrusted the garnered power of vaguely elected crony bureaucrats - the cliff hanger for that train of thought is the same. What do you do about it?

Some may try to redress grievances either by spreading information as far as possible, utilizing the system to change the system from the inside or direct action - be that violent or nonviolent. If the prospect of toiling away until you die by handing your earned wages to a landlord, the state or playing a investment gamble to make it big-  does not sound fun. I propose another option: Drop out.

Ignore the powers that be and you take away their power over your life. At least in the interim. Use what you have and do what you can with it. Walk the Earth, live in a van, build a tiny house, pack a bag, get a dog, pick vegetables on a WWOOF farm, bring a guitar, join a commune, start a free school, learn to make something practical to survival and do it all the way.

Don't buy in to a system that doesn't work for you. Wasting brain cycles regurgitating mindlessness changes nothing. Become your own change. Think Locally; Act Locally.

Shiny rocks will becomes your currency, you'll be more aware of your surroundings than you ever were before, you won't have to watch talking heads on the news any longer and your postal address with become a thing of the past.

If their system doesn't work for you - cast it aside. I'll see you by the fire.
