Introducing myself... #introduceyourself

I thought I'd better give an official HELLOOOOOOOOO!

So, this is me, Mark Lee...

Take a selfie suggests @Steemit... we're in a world where selfies are normal these days yet I hate taking them.

Self conscious? Yup...

There's the first thing you now know about me! But what else...?

I'm mainly here to talk about Crypto's although you'll see some older posts more art related. I used to have an art business that I just didn't have time to dedicate to in the way I needed. But I do love art and would to be a more avid collector of pieces, especially a Briton Riviere piece. He always captures an animals spirit and emotion in it's face and I especially like his canine pieces. See, I'm a big animal person and a mans best friend truly is his dog.

I currently do not have any pets after recently losing my amazing best friend, Lexi. She was my first dog which I raised from a pup and became my shadow and fellow nature explorer. I've found so many stunning places to escape to in our British countryside, especially in the beautiful district of Snowdonia in North Wales. I've now found a love for being in nature and how hiking has become my meditation. It allows me to clear my mind, file my thoughts and I'll come up with some really obscure and creative ideas whilst walking. I've a goal to get myself a Campervan to give me more freedom to get away to nature more at any moment.

Two amazing ladies!

I suppose I better mention the hot red-head above too! I'm lucky to call her my partner in my adventures! We're both quite deep at times yet also very lighthearted. Together we connected through a journey of self-discovery and we found love! I'm someone who's always striving to grow and become a better version of myself.

I've always had an interest in art and been a creative person, but never really pursued it apart from some photography I did mostly whilst out on my walks. I'd still love to do something art related, especially to benefit some of the talented yet unknown artists out there. For now, it's a distant dream.

West Kirby shelter (long exposure) photography by Me!

I took an engineering career route from leaving school and this led me to doing my Aircraft Maintenance Apprenticeship in the RAF.

Being in the RAF taught me much more than just engineering. I learn't a lot about discipline, morals and respect and I believe these skills have shaped me to be the good-natured and caring person I am today. I often put others before myself but I've recently realised the need to work on improving myself before helping others. I can only fully benefit people when I am the best version of me!

So, apart from an engineering career right now my other main focus is on trading and cryptocurrencies. I have a blog about it over at http://exftrading.com. I've recently decided to write my blogs here at Steemit where hopefully it gets some more notice and offers others some help and value.

EXF Trading was started as a desire to blog my trading journey and eventually help EX Forces (EXF) to learn this trading skill too

I've had an interest in trading since 2009 after I attended a seminar on spreadbetting...
But I never really took it seriously and have been in and out of trading ever since, losing plenty of money along the way but gaining some valuable experiences which only now is falling into place.

2017 led to a chance online meeting with a former RAF pilot-turned-trader which ignited my trading interest again and this time I was armed with a better mindset and a better time structure in order to focus on learning this life valuable skill!

And what an interesting time to jump back on board the trading train! With cryptocurrencies gaining attention and the blockchain technology becoming more widely adopted, we have a unique opportunity to capitalise on the huge gains this market has yet to offer!

I'm still early on in my serious trading journey and still have a lot to implement and learn... but I hope to inspire others along the way! In order to survive and keep paying my bills, I still have a full time job which I invest 10% into my trading pot each month and allocate 10% towards continuous education and knowledge.

I am part of the Realistic Trader group run by that ex-RAF pilot and now one of the biggest voices on Crypto's, Siam Kidd. This offers me education as well as ongoing support to help me on my journey. If you'd like to be a part of this group too and learn how to safely buy and trade cryptocurrencies, come along and join us! - Disclaimer: This is an affiliate link but I'd only ever offer services that I actively use. Plus the affiliate fee would really help me to add to my trading pot.

So, in a bit of a brief nutshell... that's me! I'd love to connect with like-minded people with similar interests, especially people in the North West region of England to meet and network with, share ideas and help grow communities through similar interests.

Come and say hi below... :-)

Welcome!

Hello leem2209! Welcome to Steemit! Hope you'll like the community here. As a start, here are 5 tips that we believe will be helpful to you:

  1. Keep your passwords safe: Unlike conventional sites, Steemit has 4 types of passwords. Each offers varying degrees of access to your account, so know where and when to use each of them. Also, make sure to keep them all safe and secure.
  2. Get Steem rewards: When writing a post, you'll have the option to choose how to receive your reward: "Default 50%/50%" or "Power Up 100%". As of this moment, choosing Default 50%/50% is the better option. But this can change over time. Check our post to know more.
  3. Upvote wisely: When upvoting, wait at least 30 minutes after the post is published to maximize your curation reward. Also, make sure not to upvote too much too fast so as not to drain your voting power.
  4. Know your Steem, Steem Dollars and Steem Power: Steem and Steem Dollars are the 2 main currencies here. Convert and power up more Steem into Steem Power so you can have higher values on your upvotes.
  5. Have Fun and Enjoy!

Love your photos, very fun, I'm Oatmeal, and you are cool, I love travel and castles. Is there a castle in your photos? I love hiking. Love your dog. Beautiful smiles.

Thank you... It's not a castle I'm afraid. Its the Jubilee tower on the top of Moel Famau which was destroyed in a storm in the 1860's

The tower, which was built to commemorate the golden jubilee of George III in 1810, was designed by Thomas Harrison of Chester. It was designed like an Egyptian obelisk with three tiers. Although the foundation stone was laid in 1810 by George Kenyon, 2nd Baron Kenyon, the tower was never completed due to a lack of funds. In 1862, a major storm brought down the incomplete tower. The remaining upper part of the structure was demolished for safety reasons leaving just the base. Most of the rubble was removed from the site; smaller stonework was reused by local farmers for dry stone walls.

Very interesting. But what is a Jubilee tower? What is a obelisk?

Jubilee is what it is called. Jubilee meaning is:

A jubilee is a particular anniversary of an event, usually denoting the 25th, 40th, 50th, 60th, or 70th anniversary. Of biblical origins, the term is often now used to denote the celebrations associated with the reign of a monarch after a milestone number of years have passed.

An obelisk is a stone building particularly in a square or rectangle formation which ends with a pyramid shape on top.

is a tall, four-sided, narrow tapering monument which ends in a pyramid-like shape or pyramidion at the top.
