Thinking Out Loud!
Given the rash of layoffs facing journalists and the debate about fake news, one might think its a bad idea to join the trade. But bad ideas often make for great stories so I think I'll jump right in...sort of.
I'm no journalist.
I have no degree in gender studies.
I am not a 37-year-old woman with 6 cats.
I don't claim to be anyone's voice and I love politically incorrect memes. So again, I'm no journalist and I won't pretend to be. I'd rather take up the mantle of a writer. After all, I don't want to limit myself. I have so many ideas just waiting to become manifest. My imagination is like a brooding soup. The question is where do I begin?
Perhaps a short story. Mystery and intrigue, love and hate, justice and revenge.
Or maybe a true story. My past is dotted with misadventure and the retelling these stories has become a common request among my friends.
I could pen a deep and insightful piece to inspire you while you sip your morning coffee. Sometimes we need a little more than caffeine to start our day.
What if I play devil's advocate and stir the pot with some political commentary to rile the readers for better or worse?
And I am a Chef by trade. I would be delighted to share some tips and tricks to pimp your plate and wow your guests the next time you host.

Yes, my new friends, I have ideas and I look forward to bringing them to life with this, my new mandate, the noble craft of writing. In the spirit of new endeavors I offer my mantra:
"Adversity and Adventure... begin much alike."
So I hope you read this with the same sense of anticipation as I had in writing it. For what will be to follow might be my greatest adventure yet.
