nature loving Finn in the US

Hello, hei and aloha,

I joined Steemit few days ago, so it’s time to introduce myself.

My name is Maarit and I describe myself as a world citizen. I grew up in Finland and lived a lion part of my life over there, in the world's happiest country. At the moment I live in the United States, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Before Ohio I lived few years in Texas, and before Texas few shorter time periods in New York City and Silicon Valley, California. I’ve always loved traveling and exploring new places. During the past few years I’ve mainly explored the beauty of North America via road tripping and by going for shorter city vacations.

Originally I’m a biologist but one thing led to another and I’ve spent most of my adult career years in IT Service Management. Lately I’ve spent way too much time with cryptocurrencies and the wonderful world of cryptos. My crypto addiction started in spring 2017 and only lately I’ve forced myself to take some distance to cryptos as there is life outside the cryptoworld.

I love nature and visual arts, and especially animals, all sort of animals - yes, also snakes, spiders and all sorts of bugs. I'm equally a dog and a cat person which for some reason seems to be rare.
The older I get the more I’m also interested in human mind. I guess it’s part of the process growing up and being hungry to understand why we behave like we do.

What else I love? Here in random order: all sorts of quotes, silly stories, road trips, adventures, science, quiet nightless midsummer nights by a lake, windy fall afternoons by the sea, Christmas and everything related, old churches and cathedrals, smiling faces, meaningful action and wise words, first fragrant spring anemones, happy dogs, scented and unscented candles, curious crows, old graveyards, hot showers, real forests, mushrooms, mountains, oceans, hiking alone and with my spouse, loving kisses, thunderstorms, real old-fashioned postcards, bookstores, hot chocolate, herbal teas, shower fresh skin, tinted lip balms, good people… my spouse and our cat, and most of all this fantastic Life.
