Welcome! Here's a tip: search all of the tags available on Steemit, and choose a few that you're interested in. Go to those tags, and instead of viewing the trending topics (which can be useful once, but after your initial visit, you'll still see the same trending posts a lot of the time), look at the new posts. When you find ones that seem interesting and contain quality content, upvote it, and follow the user. Maybe leave a reply with your thoughts on their post as well. The more followers you have, the more upvotes you'll get, and the more successful you'll be with Steemit.
