Hi! Trying steemit
Hello all.
I'm new to Steemit but not to the cryptoworld and social media. I am an active reddit user and became interested in the crypto world back in 2011, where bitcoin was still mineable with a cpu/gpu and was, at most, a rare nerd curiosity. I regret not buying btc then, but no matter what, the whole crypto world is extremely interesting. Even if you don't get rich by hodling coins/tokens.
I have varied interests: science, open source/software/computer science, politics, literature and technology. But I'm bad at writing, so probably I will interact more via comments or upvotes.
No matter what, I find steemit a weird but interesting experiment. The whole monetary rewards can destroy a bit the ecosystem behaviour, encouraging fake upvoting/downvoting, artificially inflated follower numbers and similar stuff.
Let's see how that works!
