ট্রাফিক জ্যাম নিয়ে ঢাকাবাশির আভিজোগ এর শেষ নেই। ঢাকা শহরের মানুষের অনেক মুল্যবান সময় নষ্ট হচ্ছে যানজটের কারনে । রাস্তার এই নিশ্চল পরিস্থিতি ক্ষুণ্ণ করছে ঢাকার ভাবমুতি । ২০১৫ সালে এক প্রতিবেদনে বলা হয় , ব্যস্ত তম সময় ঢাকা শহরে গাড়ির গড় গতিবেগ ২০১৫সালে ৬.৮ কিঃমিঃ । যদি পিছনে ফিরে দেখি ২০০৪ সালে ঘণ্টা প্রতি ২১.২কিঃমিঃ বেগে চলতো। বতমানে তা এসে দারিয়েছে ঘণ্টায় গরে ৫ কিঃমিঃ, যা হাটার গতির সমান। আর এই জ্যামের জম্ম হয় অতিরিক্ত রাস্তা কাটা বা ভাঙ্গা,যেখনে সেখানে গাড়ি পাকিং করা , রোড এক্সিডেন্টে আর ট্রাফিক আইন না মানা ও রাস্তার সাঙ্কত ।
