Myself on Steemit: An Introductory post

I am Sakariyau Abdulwasiu from Kwara State of Nigeria. I obtained my B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Microbiology from University of Ilorin and Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta respectively. I enjoy doing scientific research both in the laboratory and on the field.

As a student (undergraduate and postgraduate), I was fond of reading project reports, dissertations and theses. It amazed me, how a research work that took several months, could be summarised in graphical and tabular presentations. Curiously, I got to know the power of statistical tools (analyses) in scientific researches. In the process, I became a researcher, data analyst and a report writer. Here I am!

Earlier this month (June), very late at night, with a light rain shower, I received the call. It was a junior colleague (@herbayomi). Hello sir, how are you doing? Sir, are you aware of a social media called Steemit? He asked. No o, I am not. I replied. He said it is a platform where one can share scientific articles and get monetary rewards. Despite the explanations he gave, I was not much convinced. Few days later, I was in the laboratory when a colleague said to me, 'Could you believe that I shared my current research work on a platform and I received 5000 Naira'. What is the platform? I asked. He said Steemit!

This Steemit should be real o! That was my thought. I read about Steemit online and I was totally convinced to sign up.
