Who I am!! And what I like to do!!

Hello everyone, my name is Valerio, I am passionate about photography (I'm not a professional photographer). My passion was born thanks to my father when he handed me his old Minolta as a child. Thanks to him I learned some about theory about photography, the basics.
After several years from the first photo that i maked in my father's arms I bought my first camera, I still remember, I spent all my savings in a mirrorless Canon G9. From that moment on I started to shoot and experiment, with the limits of a compact camera, the theory learned from my father.
Parallel to photography I discovered another passion, the apnea.
The turning point was before my first trip to Egypt, I immediately asked to my self , why not merge the two passions? Then I started to inform myself about underwater photography and the three thousand problems that derive, at the end after many doubts and questions I got a underwater housing for my G9 and I departed.
After other years ... passing from a G9 to a G12 I bought my first DSLR, a Canon 6D which I currently use, but not for underwater photos, which I continue to do with the G12. The reason?
Simply because buying a underwater housing for a DSLR is not enough € 5000 since you should buy one or two underwater flashs, spotlights and everything you need to take advantage of the camera in full performance, but this could also be overshadowed by the first big problem. I love freediving and do not go with the tanks. Hence the huge problem that a freediver has when he tries to take underwater pictures, that is, not having a static position (because at least one hand has to hold the car) and you doesn't have all needed time that you want to take a picture. Obviously having made several acquaintances one my friend gave me the underwater housing for my 6D, but it is not a feasible thing in apnea, i tryed a lot but the entire underwater set is too much bigger and heavy. Obviously they need both hands to take a picture and set a DSLR in automatic reflex is a sacrilege.
So my choice was still opt for a machine that would allow you to make all the adjustments of the case, with a bit of experience and thousands of photos thrown away I can set the shooting settings on the surface, before diving, i already know what I will go to photograph or having already taken a dip to check.
This is the summary of how my passion for underwater photography was born, I leave you with a beautiful puzzle to see.
