Loosing My Blog Virginity to Steemit… Hello Future of the Internet!
I have never done this before so I hope this isn’t too rough. To start off I’d to just introduce myself a little. My name is Thomas Lass. I am 25 and I am super excited for the future developments that Blockchain technology has to offer. Also I love food, math and philosophy (I know thats a weird combo). Small talk is one of my least favorite things so I am going to get down to business now.

I am starting this blog to express my thoughts, hopes and fears for the future of humanity. My blog posts will cover a variety of topics from today’s horrifying world of politics, the beauty in feeding the hungry, the excitement of developing technology and all the way to my philosophical view of the world we live in. My intention is to share my thoughts and to hear yours on every aspect of our individual prospectives of the world. Constructive criticism is always welcome and desired, please comment!!

To start off I want to share my two most basic life goals:
- Always do whats best for me
- Always do whats best for everyone else
Some people say these two goals would be difficult to achieve. Others say that they are completely incompatible. But in my future posts I hope to explain how achieving these two goals simultaneously is absolutely possible and even necessary for the survival of humanity. Right now I want to explain a little behind my thoughts which lead to these goals.

Simply put one of my core beliefs is if you are going to say something is “better” it must be better for everyone. This is the embodiment of my two life goals. I am an self-serving egotistical individual. At the same time I understand that I am also just a tiny part of the Universe. We all have our own interests and goals, we are also all connected and dependent on each other. Because of our connections and desires for the survival of ourselves and the human race we must promote the success of everyone. I hope you can see the truth and beauty behind my life goals. I know this is a short and incomplete description. I plan to dive further into this topic throughout my future blog posts. For now I want you to understand that I believe humanity must work together to achieve a better life for us and the world around us.

Broken down to the smallest level, you are an individual. The pre and post context of describing your individualism, are second only to your individualism.
Don't put a negative connotation on self-serving and ego, they're necessary for a better world. I feel like you may have read some Ayn Rand before, ya?
Thanks for the comments @intothewild! I find that it is necessary to appreciate my own self-serving agenda while also equally important to respect others. I feel like one of the hardest things in life is finding the balance between presenting my individualism without imposing myself onto others. I have developed a deep understanding of myself and am growing my sensitivity towards the world around me.
I have never heard of Ayn Rand but I will research her. I listen to a lot of Alan Watt's seminars. Have you listened to any of his talks?
On another subject, are you an avid follower of the Twins?
Oh, I think you’ll like her. You speak of altruism, which is what she focuses her theses and ideas on. She’s not perfect by any means, but she gets a lot right.
I have heard of Watts and like his work. You’re the second person to bring him up to me lately, so maybe I need to brush up a bit on ole’ Alan.

Just from reading her wikipedia page she seems very insightful. I'll have to read some of her books.
Yeah I like Watts a lot. I have a playlist on my youtube channel with some of my favorite talks of his. (I need to update it though)
