New Music: A New Kind Of Pop - Introducing DENM “Good Vibes” feat. gnash

As you all will soon discover, we’re all about groovy sounds. With that in mind … we introduce to you a sound you need to get familiar with. From Southern California comes DENM, the creative solo act heading the West Coast garage-pop sound. Think of him as if Sam Elliott and Modest Mouse circa the early 90s had produced a music child, they would have popped out (no pun intended) DENM.

DENM has been penning his own songs since the age of fourteen and has worked with some of the music industry’s top pop stars, but it wasn’t until 2015 when DENM made his debut as a solo artist. Listeners instantly picked up that he was pushing the boundaries of pop music.

His mangy faded color hair fit the role of defiance and his look was nothing more than that of a slacker. But when it came down to the musical element, the Santa Barbara artist was able to lay down some incredible dance melodies and fresh tempos that took everyone by surprise. What started off as a dare/challenge from a few friends, resulted in the release of DENM’s debut EP Dreamhouse. Here's a taste of the EP:

Dreamhouse touched personal low’s in DENM’s life, struggles with drugs, depression … yet the lighthearted aesthetics behind the lyrics brought in happiness that resonated with listeners. What is remarkable is that the low key artist who’s successmaker was to make people have a good time while listening to his music went viral. As of today, he’s garnered over 20 million streams on iTunes, Spotify, and Soundcloud, and he’s reaching the top of the charts on Hypem and Spotify global viral number one.

Although it’s been over two years since the debut of DENM’s solo career, he’s been keeping somewhat of a low profile, staying creatively occupied until February 2018, when he released “Good Vibes” feat. gnash.

“Good Vibes” is taken from DENM’s newest album Is Whatever, out now, and just like the magic that happened in 2016, listeners once again are treated to a sound that they will want to hear again and again.

Without a doubt, DENM will be around and will continue to make his own rules to the pop genre.
