Best carrier deals on the iPhone X

in #iphone7 years ago

The new iPhone X is no exception. The starting price for the smartphone is $999, Apple’s most expensive phone to date. Preorders just went on sale October 27 with the phones hitting store shelves on November 3.

Believe it or not, you can find some good deals out there. Three of the top four carriers are offering discounts of roughly $300 on the iPhone X if you trade in your old phone. But like anything that sounds too good to be true, there are catches such as buying through your carrier instead of directly from Apple.

Here are the current deals the top carriers are offering on the iPhone X.

Verizon
Verizon is offering $300 off an iPhone X if you are trading in an iPhone 6s or newer, Galaxy S7 or newer, Google Pixel XL, Moto Z2Force or LG G6.

You can still get $200 off an iPhone X if you trade in an iPhone 6, iPhone SE, Galaxy S6, Galaxy Note 5, Google Pixel, LG G5, LG V20, Moto Z Droid, Moto Z Force or Moto Z2 Play.

The carrier is offering $100 off with trade-in of an iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Note 4, HTC 10 or Moto Z Play.

Here’s the catch: to qualify, you must be a current or new subscriber to Verizon’s “Beyond Unlimited” plan or the “Go Unlimited” plan. If you’re already a Verizon customer, you must be eligible for an upgrade. Finally, you have to buy the iPhone X directly from Verizon and be willing to get the trade-in discount as a monthly credit over the next two years.

T-Mobile
T-Mobile is offering up to a $300 discount on the iPhone 8 or iPhone X if you trade-in an iPhone 6 or newer.

However, the carrier isn’t saying exactly how much you’ll get back. It’s determined by the model you’re trading in and what kind of condition it’s in.

Like Verizon, you have to be willing to take the credit in monthly installments over two years. You also have to be on one of T-Mobile’s monthly installment plans such as the “Jump On Demand” plan.

Sprint
Now, Sprint is offering the biggest discount of $350 for a trade-in of these phones: iPhone 6 or newer, Galaxy S7 or newer, Galaxy Note 5, LG G5 or newer, Google Pixel, Google Pixel XL, Moto Z Droid, Moto Z Play, Moto Z2 Force, Moto Z Force Droid, Moto Z2 Play, HTC U11 and BlackBerry KeyOne.

Like the other carriers, Sprint has caveats too. Instead of over two years, the carrier will give you a credit in 18 monthly installments through their Flex leasing program. It ends up lowering your monthly cost for the phone but you must turn it back in after 18 months or pay off the balance.

You also have the option of upgrading the phone after one year by trading it in. If you do, Sprint says it’ll match other carriers' discounts for the iPhone X.

No word if AT&T plans to offer any deals on the iPhone X.

Now, if you don’t want to trade in your old phone, there are plenty of uses for it around your house.
