This Prayer Often the Messenger of Allah chanted after the Prayers
In a hadith narrated by Imam Ahmad, angels will pray for us to finish praying. Therefore do not rush to get out of the seat. Pray much as the Holy Prophet often does. Here is a prayer that he often chant every time after prayer.
اللهم إني أعوذ بك من الجبن وأعوذ بك من البخل وأعوذ بك من أرذل العمر وأعوذ بك من فتنة الدنيا وعذاب القبر
Allahumma innii a'uudzu bika minal jubni wa a'uudzu bika minal bukhli wa a'uudzu bika min ardzalil 'umuri wa a'uudzu bika min fitnatid dunyaa wa' adzaabil qabri
Meaning; O Allah, verily I take refuge in you from the cowardly nature, I take refuge in You from the miserly nature, I seek Your protection from the aged, and I take refuge in You from the slander of the world and the Penalty of the grave. (Narrated by Imam al-Tirmidhi)
