Salve, oggi mi piacerebbe parlarvi di quelle che sono le caratteristiche e le origini della razza dei miei cuccioli.

Il CHOW CHOW
Cane con l'aspetto da leoncino, è una delle razze più antiche per questo e difficile risalire esattamente alle sue origini. Divenne popolare in centro Asia circa 2000 anni fà. I' origine del nome deriva molto probabilmente dal termine "chow",che indicava le merci importate dai mercanti cinesi in Europa verso fine Ottocento. La caratteristica tipica della razza è la lingua bluastra. In merito a questo si sono sviluppate varie leggende che cercano di spiegarne il motivo, una di queste narra che: mentre Dio dipingeva Il cielo una goccia d' inchiostro azzurro cadde dal suo pennello il cane accanto a lui era proprio un CHOW CHOW che leccando quella goccia di cielo macchiò la sua lingua del tipico colore .

ll suo pelo può essere corto o lungo, comunque adatto a temperature piuttosto rigide, quest'ultimo necessita di cure quotidiane, i suoi colori tipici sono : nero ,rosso,fulvo ,crema e bianco .E un cane da guardia infatti tra i suoi svariati usi era messo a custodia delle abitazioni e delle navi da trasporto che commerciavano lungo i fiumi cinesi tranquillo e riservato, indipendente e silenzioso abbaia poco o raramente, non ama molto i bambini ma li tollera con pazienza, dal carattere fiero ed austero identifica in un solo membro della famiglia il capo branco ma resta decisamente collaborativo e presente con il resto del nucleo familiare, nonostante il suo aspetto da orsacchiotto, sembra a volte impassibile e indifferente ma in realtà nutre tanto affetto che dimostra a suo modo e a sua misura.

E una taglia media, il suo peso ideale è intorno ai 35/40 (kg) anche se può variare a seconda del sesso e del tipo di alimentazione o attività fisica che svolge giornalmente, mentre l' altezza è compresa tra 45 e i 55 (cm). Appartenente alla famiglia degli Spitz, venne anche impiegato per la caccia di grossi predatori quali orsi e lupi e nei campi di battaglia durante il periodo del medioevo cinese, altra caratteristica sono zampe robuste e la coda folta rivolta verso l' alto.
