Budapest mini guide Part 3

Saluti a tutti, eccomi a scrivere l’ultima parte della mia prima guida di viaggi, che va a completare le prime parti postate nei giorni scorsi (se non li avete letti vi invito a farlo ed a condividere le vostre impressioni e consigli).
In questo post verranno valutati e condivisi alcuni aspetti di Budapest sotto il profilo del cibo e della vita notturna.

Cibo

1- Gulasch

Non si può iniziare se non dal piatto tipico per eccellenza, con tutte le varianti possibili ed immaginabili. Si tratta del fiore all’occhiello della cucina ungherese conosciuto ormai in tutto il mondo grazie alla somiglianza con il nostro spezzatino ma con gusto e sapori decisi come solo la cucina dell’est Europa può offrire. E’ una zuppa di carne di manzo con patate, peperoni ed un tocco di paprika che facilmente troverete nelle pietanze locali. Consiglio di mangiarlo presso il mercato coperto, posto la foto della mia ordinazione.

2- Kurtoskalacs

Dopo il salato ecco il dessert: il kurtoskalacs.
Più che un vero dessert si tratta di un vero e proprio cibo da strada, che troverete in vari mercatini e fiere, ma anche in alcune pasticcerie. E’ composto da una sfoglia avvolta intorno ad un bastone di legno che viene successivamente cotta e servita ricoperta da cacao, cannella, noci o mandorle…

3- Langos

Un'altra specialità street food che è possibile acquistare nei mercatini…. Non facilissima da digerire in quanto composta da una base pizza fritta condita da panna acida e formaggio ma è anche possibile trovare varianti dolci.

Vita notturna

La bellezza della vita notturna è certamente caratterizzata dai famosi bar in rovina (ruins pubs) ed i centri termali che organizzano feste notturne. Questa tipologia di pub sono molto di moda e molto particolari e caratteristici. Si tratta di edifici in rovina ed abbandonati, che sono stati trasformati in locali dove si beve e si ascolta musica. Al primo posto della lista cito il Szimpa Kert perché è uno dei piu famosi ruin bar, possiede tante stanze ed un bellissimo cortile che ospita veramente tante persone. Altri locali simili sono l’Instict e l’Otkert, tutti molto belli e consigliati.

Greetings to all, here I am writing the last part of my first travel guide, which completes the first parts posted in recent days (if you have not read them I invite you to do so and to share your impressions and advice).
In this post some aspects of Budapest will be evaluated and shared in terms of food and nightlife.

Food

1- goulash

We cannot start without the typical dish par excellence, with all the possible and imaginable variants. This is the jewel in the crown of Hungarian cuisine known throughout the world thanks to the similarity with our stew but with taste and flavors decided as only Eastern European cuisine can offer. It is a beef soup with potatoes, peppers and a touch of paprika that you will easily find in local dishes. I recommend eating it at the covered market, place the photo of my order.

2- Kurtoskalacs

After the salty, here's the dessert: kurtoskalacs.
More than a true dessert it is a real street food, which you will find in various markets and fairs, but also in some pastry shops. It is composed of a pastry wrapped around a wooden stick which is then cooked and served covered with cocoa, cinnamon, walnuts or almonds ...

3- Langos

Another street food specialty that you can buy in flea markets…. Not easy to digest as it consists of a fried pizza base topped with sour cream and cheese but it is also possible to find sweet variants.
Average price around € 2.5 each

Nightlife

The beauty of the nightlife is certainly characterized by the famous ruined bars (ruins pubs) and the spas that organize night parties. This type of pub is very fashionable and very particular and characteristic. These are ruined and abandoned buildings that have been turned into places where people drink and listen to music. At the top of the list I mention the Szimpa Kert because it is one of the most famous ruin bars, it has many rooms and a beautiful courtyard that really hosts many people. Other similar places are the Instict and the Otkert, all very beautiful and recommended.

As for night-time spas, parties are often organized, I recommend the Szecheny baths and the Rudas baths, which are the most famous in the city ... go and relax and then let me know how you are.
