What Is ITR

in #itr5 years ago

As a decentralized producer, some of the questions I have to face are: What do we build next, what is needed/wanted, what's already been done, what have we learned in the past, and what is possible in a production standpoint? The answers can differ depending on who's asked and what resources and abilities are available. I had a bias unquestionably qualities which have been the norm of Randy Schlitter's designs, for the long wheelbase recumbent platform the Stratus. This bias was influential in producing a beginning point. Randy had successfully tackled the task of producing the frame design with, the aluminum Stratus XP K frame to begin.

While constructing from aluminum calls for attention to a plethora of 29, this is no achievement, to retain the magic of the 4130 chromoly Stratus. This dialog will be too long to get into currently, but very intriguing to those who're intrigued with the topic. Influencing this train of thought have been conversations with my friend, Jonathan Garcia. He brings to their table a wealth of wisdom and experiences of recumbents and cycling as viewed from the perspective of an avid cyclist, a bicycle dealer/shop owner, and one who has been involved in the design and manufacturing. He also lives in an area of the nation where climbing hills is a very common event during almost any bike ride, not a luxury we've in abundance in southwest Kansas.

Following is an article he wrote detailing his involvement in their Rise a Della Fenice. The Rise of their Phoenix - by Jonathan Garcia - The introduction of a brand new model, whether an automobile, a plane, a brand new phone is a thrilling moment. There's a certain love story their story leading up to their inception, layout, and production of a brand new bicycle. With which in mind, Jerrell has asked me to help tell their story of their Phoenix and its increase in the legacy created by Randy Schlitter. A legacy which has been nurtured by Jerrell Nichols and his family in their two-plus years they've owned Rans.

The narrative begins in a Facebook post last year. Jerrell had picked up four new old stock RANS Stratus XP AL unpainted frames in their former RANS Bike Factory in Hays, Kansas. Hidden somewhere among their last of their framework and components inventory which Jerrell had purchased a couple years ago were these completely new, old stock gemstone, last manufactured in the year 2006. With which post, Robert Holler and I, co-owners of Rose City Recumbents decided to buy two for ourself and two for stock at their shop. Every year we anticipate Cycle Oregon.
