Japanese care package from London ロンドン経由日本からのお土産

Last October I have deactivated my FB account, ahead of the whole scandal ^^.

I didn’t know if I could last long without it. So “deleting” it was off the table at the time (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)

I concentrated on Steem and my paintings.

Time passed.

Then suddenly it was the end of May!
So I logged back in and “applied for deletion” :)

Of course they give you two weeks to change your mind and try to lure you back, telling that some friends of yours will miss you.

Two weeks passed. My account was no more ٩( ᐛ )و

Suddenly my phone rang.

I was alone in the studio in the middle of the night.

It was Reiko.

I haven’t heard her voice for 6 years now. She had a cold, but it was definitely Reiko’s voice.

Last time we met, she came to visit me in Zurich from Hungary.

We wrote each other once every couple of years. She moved to London. I moved to Germany.

Time passed.

I don’t know how long it would have been until I’d hear her voice again, if I hadn’t quit.

That was the moment I realized that quitting Facebook was the best decision I’ve ever made :)

Reiko visited Japan a month ago and sent me a little care package filled with Senbei (japanese rice crackers), konbu tea and one famous Shiroi Koibito cookie mmm :)

去年からフェースブックを使わないことに挑戦してみました。あのスキャンダルの前に。

どうせ、長くは持たないでしょうと思って。。。
スティームをやりながら時間が経て、突然5月がきたのです。

びっくりした！もう5月！

5月までFBなしで生活普通にして、もうFBは無くてもいけるとわかりました。
遠くにいる友人は、きっと私のメールも分かっているでしょうし、連絡とりたかったら、簡単に見つけるでしょう。この世には同じ名前の人が存在していない(現在)のです(*´-`)。

FBを消して間もなく電話がなりました📞

電話に出て、6年ぶりあのの声が部屋に響いた。

ああ、懐かしいこの声〜

昔、一緒にアパートをシェアしてた玲子ちゃんの声です。

彼女が日本からハンガリーへ仕事で引っ越しました。そして、私はチューリッヒへ来た時に、遊びにきてくれました。

時間が経って、彼女はロンドンへ、私はドイツへ引っ越し、あまりにも忙しくて、連絡はほとんどしなかったのです。

FBを消せなかったら次この声を聞く機会がしばらくなかったと思います。

そして、FBを消してよかったと思います。

玲子ちゃんが先月日本へ行ってきたそうで、せんべいとこんぶ茶を送ってくれました！
