「二足の草鞋を穿くということ」
今回のスタードロップの編集後記のテーマを何にしようかと考えた瞬間に、『二足の草鞋を穿く』という表現が頭の中に浮かんできました。私は２足以上の草鞋を穿く生活をずいぶんと長い間続けています。初めはフリーランスで活動する事に少しだけ不安を感じましたが、やるしかない状況の中で様々な仕事を掛け持つ生活を続けているうちに、色々な経験をできる事に心地良さを感じるようになりました。もちろん良い事ばかりではありませんが、振り返るとほとんど良い事しか覚えていません。スタードロップの主人公であるアシェルの身にも様々な変化が起こり、あらゆる経験をするシーンが登場します。スタードロップを翻訳しながら、アシェルの波乱万丈な人生に自分自身を重ねているような気持ちがしました。ありえないようですが、宇宙からやってきたアシェルに仲間意識を持つというこの不思議な感覚が、この漫画スタードロップの面白さの１つであると思います。
スティーミアンの皆さんも「二足の草鞋を穿く」生活をされている方が多いのではないでしょうか？日常生活の様々な経験を、記事にしている個性豊かな方がたくさんいますよね。スティーミアンの皆さんが、スタードロップを楽しく読んでいただければ幸いです。次回のスタードロップもお楽しみに！

About ‘Moonlighting’
When I was thinking about a theme for this editor’s note, the expression of ‘Moonlighting’ popped into my brain. In Japanese, we say ‘Wear two pairs of shoes’ for ‘Moonlighting.’ I have been wearing more than two pairs of shoes for a long time. First of all, I had anxiety when I started working freelance. However, after continuing working with no other choices about my circumstances, I started feeling comfortable to have opportunities with many experiences. Of course, there are not always good things but if I look back, I only remember good things. You will see scenes of the main character Ashelle from StarDrop, is going to have a lot of experiences. During the translation of StarDrop, I sympathized with Ashelle’s roller-coaster life. Although not probable, I feel a kind of comradery with Ashelle who came from space. It is the one of attractions of the comic StarDrop I think.
I think there are many Steemians who also wear two pairs of shoes (Moonlighting) in their lives. We have many interesting Steemians who write about their various experiences don’t we? I’ll be happy if Steemians enjoy reading StarDrop. The next StarDrop is coming soon!
